Primary Purpose:

Administer the district’s staffing, recruitment and retention process to ensure selection and placement of qualified personnel. Implement the district application and screening process and ensure that the district is represented as an attractive employer. Work with district departments, campuses, educator preparation programs, and area workforce solution providers to staff MISD vacancies.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

3 years recruiting experience preferred

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversight of the district application and screening process and ensure the district is represented as an attractive employer.
  • Develop and oversee information sessions for new employees.
  • Actively recruit
  • Develop and implement procedures for the preparation and revision of job descriptions and appraisals for the classification of positions in the district compensation plan.
  • Work with principals and supervisors to identify and select personnel for all assignments.
  • Screen and interview applicants and recommend candidates for final interview or hire.
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies.
  • Analyze results annually and make changes as needed. Identify optimum recruiting opportunities and represent the district at key recruiting fairs and events.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with college and university career teacher preparation officials and placement offices, Regional Education Service Center staff, professional associations and other recruiting resource organizations.
  • Coordinate the assignment of student teachers and staff from educator preparation programs.
  • Coordinate the various educator pipeline opportunities for the district.
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend annual district teacher job fair.

  • Become familiar with Internet posting sites and applicant databases and access them regularly.
  • Assist with compiling and reporting projections of staffing needs.
  • Compile, maintain and file related reports, records and other documents required.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
  • Establish, implement, monitor district retention plan and provide report updates.
